Hares, despite their popularity, remain elusive creatures. Perhaps part of their appeal is their enduring mystery - even as late as the 1970's they were considered to be relatively 'unknown' as a species. Blue is the colour I most associate with the mysterious so this shadowy little hare was painted in shades of blue and grey watercolour. She is partially hidden and, unlike most of my artwork, there is a limited amount of detail which seemed appropriate for this particular painting.
