Artist's description:

Wietzie created "Blown Away" with a painting knife using two different mark making techniques, which resulted in a lovely textured surface. The flowers are done impasto style, in which undiluted paint is applied thickly onto the canvas so that it stands out from the surface. This decadent surface of different textures brings the abstraction to life.

Wietzie uses the symbol of the flower to create a special intimacy with the audience, the latter being the perfect representation of human emotion: "it changes every minute and dies too early".

The painting is on a wrap around canvas, with the sides painted in white.

Shipped by La Poste in a tube. Lovingly wrapped in acid free paper, cushioned in bubble wrap and packed in a sturdy PVC tube. This method is especially safe for oversized works. Rolled works can be easily stretched (for canvas works, i.e. placed onto wooden stretcher bars).

Materials used:

Acrylic paint applied with palette knife
