This is a painting of a beautiful cherry tree on remote Shaw Island, in the San Juan Islands archipelago in Washington State.
My wife and I have spent many hours sitting near this tree once or twice a week, sharing our picnic lunch, in all kinds of weather. This is how I remember the tree looking on a bright, sunny spring day a few years ago, with clouds of brilliant pink and white blossoms covering its branches from top to bottom.
Though not framed, this painting will be shipped in a simple black mat, mounted on foam core.
