Original artwork description:

I have a collection of vintage jazz magazines entitled Music and Rhythm from the 1940's. The photographs from that magazine and from that period, which are mostly black and white, and my musical roots as a musician inspired a series of paintings that reflect the excitement and simplicity of those jazz infused times. Vogue in style with simple shapes and exaggerated poses, I used a warm underlying color palette to incorporate a look of the forty's time period.
