Question for the artist?

Artist's description:

This piece is the dawning of new techniques that I will be using in the near future. My pieces usually revolve around a centralized concept and this one is no exception. The image is of Lady Justice with her eyes stitched shut. Lady Justice is typically displayed with only a blind fold over her eyes, implying that justice is impartial to parties and seeks the truth. I find that Justice is not blind, and that a blindfold is in fact only a temporary solution. Either money or bias can come in the way and remove this impartiality. The only real way to make her blind is to in fact, as gruesome as it is, stitch her eyes shut. This hemp stitching along with the gold and blood color mixed drip is my representation on what justice is and what influences it.

Materials used:

Grumbacher Oil Paint, Canvas, Hemp String
