Original artwork description:

This isolated old Watch House is one of only two buildings on this circular section of the North Norfolk coast; the other being the old Lifeboat station, and is only accessible by walking along the shingle beach. We walked the coast path from Cley-next-the-Sea to Blakeney and I stopped to sketch the scene on-route and completed the painting later. The view across the salt marsh can be bleak but on this day it was dry and calm. The small painting depicts the vast openness of the North Norfolk coast under huge changeable skies with the sea being just visible to the left of the house.
