Original artwork description:

Officium Ovalis comprises several series of artworks that deal with formal, content-related and iconographic aspects of the oval in an associative manner. This series consists of four artworks that are based on matt, glossy silver paper that has been painted over and printed with varnish and acrylic paints. In addition, oval shapes made of cardboard were mounted on the surface of the artwork. In terms of content and form, the compositions play with the concept that Claude Monet developed for his water lily paintings. While the water lilies are the actual subject of the artwork, the black ovals in these artworks are only reminiscent of those, almost erase them and, due to the matt black, become flaws that irritate the viewer.

Materials used:

Monotype and painting with acrylic paint and varnish on silver paper and assemblage elements, mounted on MDF and wooden frame.
