Acrylic painting on wood panel. This is part of a minimalist, monochromatic series of small landscapes. I truly enjoy the simplicity of smaller monochromatic paintings, to see how far I can push using only one or two colors to create depth on a small scale. I enjoy going back to basic black and white at times to deal with extreme contrasts. I added a crackle medium to create the scaly effect for this painting and give it the illusion of texture, while thicker white paint was added with a spatula for actual texture.
This is painted in oil and painted on the sides, so there is no need for framing.
