Artist's description:

I spotted these cattle in the late autumn light on the road between La Capelle and Pouzilhac, two villages close to Uzes in the Languedoc and en route between home and Avignon. These are the famous black bulls of the Camargue, reared for the ring, which still play a vital traditional role in the local culture even here in the hills further north.

This painting forms part of a series whose aim is to capture the experience of the vibrant light of southern France.
