This view of an iconic London street, Bishopsgate, was painted in my studio from sketches I did on the way to a meeting about a commission. In the seemingly mundane scene I attempt to capture the glow of morning light as it bounces off the glass of huge impersonal buildings, whilst their dark-clad human content, of which I was one that day, moves quietly along below. The key subject is a motorcycle courier, neatly twinned with a pillar box. This painting is quite precise for me, and employs plenty of glazing and accurate line work.
The unframed watercolour, painted in my studio, is signed on the front. Your painting will arrive wrapped in protective paper and rolled in a tough postal tube or delivered flat in sturdy card depending on destination.
