Artist's description:

A piece exploring cymatics, color and music theories, and harmonies. I employed the mathematics involved in music theory to combine specific hertz measured colors in individual layers to create a three-color blending effect. The ratios of each color used are in proportion to the mathematically assumed orbit ratios in Kepler's treatise "The Harmonies of the Celestial Bodies." The forms are an exploration of the movement and shape of sound moving through space as explored in "Cymatics" by Jenny with one difference: I have removed the geometric substrate for the waves to bounce off of and instead investigate organically shaped reflectory surfaces.

Arrives ready to hang in white archival matting and a wooden box frame.

Materials used:

acrylic paint, brushes, palette knives and water
