One of a series of paintings from earlier this year in which I was trying things out, in this case different ways of painting clouds that were more spontaneous and indeed more enjoyable too. The location is Birling Gap on the Sussex coast in the UK where the prevailing wind has moulded these trees high up on the downland cliffs into these elongated shapes, I have not exaggerated them.
