Artist's description:

This acrylic painting was a response to the beautiful beaches and big skies in East Yorkshire, England. It is a piece constructed from memory and watercolour sketches. I grew up by the sea in East Yorkshire and love depicting sea, sky and estuaries.

The subtle colours I used were to capture the lovely warm yellow sunrises of the East Coast in Yorkshire. The thin layers of paint also capture that moment of morning mist as the sun rises.

I hope the viewer gets the sensation of standing on a beach in the early morning light, breathing the sea air in , whilst feeling the wind on their face. I hope the birds taking flight give the viewer the sense of narrative in the piece - where are the birds going? A snap shot in time, captured on canvas.

The acrylic paints are of a high quality and I always use Premium Wide depth 10oz Stretched Cotton Canvas.
The painting is varnished with a high quality acrylic satin paint varnish that will help protect the painting from dust, grease and UV damage.
