This happy little book sculpture was carved from the L-Z volume of the 1977 World Book Dictionary. Using selected imagery from within the dictionary, plus birds I have snipped from other sources, I have brought together a 3D collage of several of our many feathered friends. I believe this would be a unique and prized item for any bird lover.
The book is glued in the closed position; it is no longer meant to be opened. All paper surfaces are coated with a UV resistant clear medium to prevent any fading if it is ever exposed to natural sunlight. If not abused, this book sculpture should last for generations.
A metal hanger has been permanently attached to the back of the book for easy wall hanging. It looks nice standing on a bookshelf, too.
It is signed, with the year, on the back of the book, out of view.
