This view is looking through the reeds, down the waterway, to the birdhide at Rainham Marshes RSPB. Walking round the marshes at Rainham gives a profound sense of peace and otherworldliness - just sky, water, reeds and birds - far away from everyday concerns.

The acrylic painting on box canvas is ready to hang without framing. It is painted with layers and texture, with some palette knife work. Slightly impressionistic, I hope it gives the feel of fragile tranquility that comes from walking out in the marshes.
