Acrylic on wood, this piece stands 36" high, 16" across and 1" thick. It is highly colored and textured, created for the purpose of touching as well as viewing. The wood grain shows through as well as the gesso ground beneath the thick acrylic paint. The subject is of a man I'd seen when I was a child - a haunted vision of an Indian guide of sorts. I knew him as Ben Raven. Was he a vision or an actual man? This I will never know, but he is benevolent and the thought of him brings peace. He is a being of Light, and a bringer of good news. He has a glossed coating which brings out the color, though the gloss is not a super shiny one - it's just right. He is a symbol of beauty, as well as vision. He, like the sister goddesses Vida Muse and Rafaella, is part of the Spirit series - beings I've created to enhance the atmosphere with their very presence.
He is a guardian angel and his name is Benjamin Raven.
