Artist's description:

Original work of Downeast Maine done in classic Japanese Kinpakku- gold leafing.
There is this beautiful field in our little town that is still un cultivated. Sitting in it looking out over Henry's Cove through the iris and the old trees reminds me of how small we humans are.
To make this piece I first stretched paper on to panels with a seaweed glue. I treated the paper then gold leafed it. The 'paint' is ground rocks and sea shells in a water soluble binder and sumi - Japanese pine pitch ink.
5 panels 40 x 32

Materials used:

Paper, Seaweed Glue, Composition Gold Leaf, Ground Rocks and Seashells, Sumi
