This was the first painting I signed after my heart surgery. It was the first of the series I call the "Flowers & Bees of Rancho Cabeza". I live in a senior park consisting mainly of two oblong circles and no outside traffic. I found a treasure throve of flowers during my required walks and decided to paint bees on as many different flower as I could find. I chose this as the first composition because it gets right down to business and why we better take heed about the dangers our bees face. To be honest, the purple color and getting the wings to look alive was my main challenge.
All of my work comes framed with hand made 1 X 2" redwood. There are two reasons I frame my work; One: Your painting is ready to hang and enjoy upon arrival; Two: It acts as protection during shipping.
