There is much, much more to beauty than just youth. As this tulip ages the petals curl and the colours deepen. Age reveals something more complex and rich than it contained in its most youthful moment.

This painting is one of my series of large floral works, bringing to life how when initial beauty is in decay, a new beauty emerges.
