The Bearded Vulture, also known as a lammergeier, is a powerful bird with a wingspan of between 7-9 feet. They are incredibly far spread and are found all over the world, from the mountainous regions of Europe to the Himalyas and the Ethiopian Highlands in Africa. One was even spotted in the UK in May 2016.
The anatomical heart painted on the birds chest communicates my trademark message of 'Love Wildlife'. I promote this as a hashtag (#LoveWildlife) in all my Twitter and Instagram posts. You can find me on both sites at @Jane_Mutiny.
These birds are listed as near threatened by the IUCN, meaning their numbers are in decline.
This is an original artwork, unframed, painted in acrylic on a plywood panel measuring 42 x 59 cm. It is signed and dated on the front and features the animal name, locality and conservation status on the back. The work comes ready to hang, with d-rings fastened to the back, and the artwork is finished in a UV protective matte varnish.
