I know beach huts are often painted in bright colours and when I started this painting it was my intention (and even written in my notes) that mine would be too. However, as often happens, the painting led the way and the scene ended up being much softer and gentler than I'd anticipated. It makes me think of a beach out of season, at the summer's end perhaps. Sometimes you just have to do what the paints tell you!
This painting is 80cm by 30cm and the sides have been painted white so you could hang it without framing if you wish. I've varnished it and signed the back and it will come ready to hang complete with screws and eyes.
I always pack my paintings very carefully with tissue, bubble wrap, cardboard and waterproofing and I also include a selection of my greetings cards as an extra thank you.
