Artist's description:

I admit my Barrier Reef Installation has caused a ripple effect in my inspirational vein, I worked four months straight on creating product for the installation that every waking and sleeping moment was focused on that. From that moment I have been seeing everything with the oceans potential. I used up my last two eggs for breakfast and though I have been looking at egg crates my entire life as uber cool trash full of potential, I kept passing it up. Until my creative mind connected the dots for me. A friend sent me a picture of her barnacle wood, you see in the second picture and when I saw the egg crate for the millionth time, it finally clicked. I wet the crate and started manipulating the ovals, poking the top hole and smoothing the edges and manipulating them into barnacle shapes. I absolutely love the simplicity of this piece and the uncanny resemblance to the ocean's barnacles.
