Huge flocks of Barnacle geese visit Sligo every year. It's an amazing sight to be seen. The late poet Dermot Healy also found them a great source of inspiration. Dermot Healy (18 July 1947 – 29 June 2014) was an Irish novelist, playwright, poet and short story writer. In his poem: A Fool's Errand he describes the geese in a wonderful moving way...
