"Baltray Shipwreck" is a Carborundum and Drypoint print with a Chine Colle Watercolour background. The backgrounds are painted in watercolours on Chinese Rice Paper, and adhered to Fabriano paper, and over-printed with the Carborundum and Drypoint plate.
The image depicts a moonlit night over Baltray Beach in Co. Louth, Ireland. The landmark on the beach is the shipwreck of The MV Irish Trader, which went aground in 1974. The vessel is slowly but surely disintegrating.
The print is in an edition of 30, and is variable.
The variable nature of the edition is due to differences in the watercolour backgrounds.
This is No. 2 of the edition.
