Artist's description:

This is an unofficial Broadcast by the Stand Up to Cancer

This artwork is to raise awareness of the Stand Up to Cancer (SU2C), which is the UK Version of the Stand Up to Cancer, a US charitable television broadcast. The SU2C UK version was first aired in the UK in 2012, and a series of programmes with the next event is air on Friday 21st October 2016 on the Channel 4 (British Television network channel).

This has also been inspired by the recent television broadcast series “Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls” in which UK Celebrities have been deserted on a Desert Island in the Pacific Ocean and have to use their own initiatives to survive without food, water and shelter, with proceeds donated to SU2C

This follows on from previous version, "Poppy Artist", and similarly has taken the Collection Box (Can) that you pay a donation to buy merchandise such as a T-Shirt, and marked it with "SU2C". Pop Art primary colours of Blue, Red & Yellow have been used for the text.

Below is a quote from Stand Up to Cancer’s website:

“1 in 2 people will be affected by cancer in their lifetime. But we can do something about it. 100% of the money you raise for and donate to Stand Up To Cancer will fund translational research. That's right, all of it. This takes developments in the lab and transforms them into new tests and treatments for cancer patients right here in the UK.”

This is the End of the unofficial Broadcast by the Stand Up to Cancer
