Question for the artist?

Artist's description:

This is a piece of Conceptual Art

This is an unofficial Party Political Broadcast by the Scottish National Party.

The ready-made stainless steel “Can” has the initials “SN = PM”, which is the inverted initials of the present Party Political Leader of the SNP. The Artist is suggesting that the there is an Equal link between the First Minister of the SNP, Nicola Sturgeon (indicated by inverted initials "SN") and Prime Minster, initials "PM". "PM" inverted "MP" means Member of Parliament. Combining "SN=P, equals "SNP" with Letter "M". The last letter "M" is a link to Mhairi Black MP, first initial. Mhairi Black MP, aged 20 is the youngest ever MP to hold a position at the Houses of Parliament, Westminster, London. Mhairi Black's consistency Paisley & Renfrewshire, Scotland, is where William Wallace (played by Mel Gibson) in the film "Braveheart" was originated from. She's young & articulate and maybe considered "Brave" going against the traditional values establishment of the Government, Conservative Party by the use of Political Words.

Scottish National Party colours of Yellow have been used as the background, and Black for the text.

The Artist would take a ready-made “Can” remove it’s Label, to reveal the Stainless Steel Can underneath, and re-label with a Satirical character words, to highlight an issue of the day, inspired by satirical & comedy puppet TV series, Newzoids (2015-present) and previously Spitting Image (1984-1996) on UK Television.

This artwork has been inspired by the previous works in the “Back to Basics: Cans” series of works, and the previous work “Back to Basic: Anti Consumerism Cans (2009)” (see last image and link below)
