I am embarking on a mountain series. They will be abstract works in neutral colours.
I started this work by painting the canvas black, I worked in many layers to get a really saturated black. After it had dried I brushed on some instant coffee which I had desolved in water before. It gives the black a beautiful warm tone and the colour of the coffee itself is a very warm brown. For the "rocks" I pasted a bit of paper on the canvas and painted around it, later on I took the paper off. Some of the colour ran beneath the paper and marbeled the rock shapes in a very beautiful way.
The painting is ready to hang with picture wire between two folding eyelet/pointed hangers.
Please have a look at the detail photographs.
The sides of the canvas are painted black and - as always - I used only artist quality material.
For less expensive shipping I can take the canvas off the stretchers and mail it rolled up in a tube. Please contact me for this option.
In inches the work is 39.4 x 31.5 x 0.7
