Artist's description:

My husband and I took a hike around Golden Ponds in Longmont, CO in Autumn. It was unusually still, and the pond almost looked like glass. I took several photos for reference. My husband loves red maple trees, so I took a little artistic license and put a young maple in there for a focal point. There are layers and layers of paint that I laid down with my palette knife.
This is the first painting I did where I started using my palette knife in this particular way. It has become a signature style for me.

Materials used:

archival canvas and professional grade acrylics
