Autumn – my favorite time of year. Especially, the first part: the Indian Summer. The subtle transition from the summer heat to the crisper, cooler air, foliage turning from greens to warm spectrum of yellows, reds and browns. I just love the multitude of its earthy colors and that special aroma of the air -- a wonderful mix of ripe crops, burning leaves, and baked berry pies... fields covered with glowing-orange pumpkins and anticipation of the holiday gatherings -- such a joyous, wholesome season.
This watercolor and ink painting is one of my artworks inspired by this season. The subject matter is pretty self-explanatory -- an arrangement of autumn twigs and flowers (purple mums) in a simple rustic-style pitcher. It invokes a sentimental feel of something beautiful yet fragile and soon to be gone...
The artwork is artist-signed (initialed) and dated in front and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. It's sold unframed, however, it requires a frame with glass for protection to be displayed.
