Artwork description:

There is a famous French song called "Les Goelands" (The Seagulls) talking about the funeral of a seaman. Seamen have something very erotic, somehow gay. And the song is praising him getting back to where he belongs: the sea. And seagulls honoring him a last time.

I love the whole sea world, having read a lot of poems, for example "The Albatros" by Charles Baudelaire. So I always imagined how the seamen look, and I found this picture of model Augusta Alexander, that is so tender, it somehow made me think this is how he could look when he died.

I made the collage out of a printed photo, but wanted to add some distinct frame, so I took silver paper. It mirrors different colours, depending on the light colour. I love this picture. It makes me dream.
