I was first introduced to spray painting space by a friend at school when we discovered we both had been experimenting with spray cans when talking at a party. Using the University's spray booth, we collaborated on many space themed paintings. Since we had explored different techniques than the other, we were able to combine our skills. I became good at stencil creation; drawing, using Illustrator, and accessing the laser cutter lab on campus, which we used for the subjects of the paintings. He showed me so many ways to mix the paint, create textures, and expanded my toolkit with random household items. We learned a lot from each other and our paintings show.
We loved the idea of depicting the forces of the universe, gravity, God, however you define it, as hands playing basketball with stars and planets. This was one of many paintings we completed showing the Gayan Grip on the Universe.
