These were the last of the flowers last Autumn. I set them on a table in front of a window in my studio, and I knew that I had to paint them! I painted them twice, in fact. This was my first painting of them, a small version on a wood panel. I love that you can see the grain of the wood in the painting. It reminds me of a small impressionists painting by William Merritt Chase that I once saw at the Baltimore Museum of Art. The grain of the wood becomes part of the painting composition.
It is framed in a simple, hand-made, wood frame.
The frame is included in the price of the painting.
