Artist's description:

This is the first in my series, "The Masters". I'm doing this to push myself beyond my comfort zone, and to become more intimate and familiar with The Masters of Visual Art.

The title of this piece is uncomfortable for some. I only posed the question in the title because of the many accounts of others regarding Picasso. I have no way of proving or disproving the claims, however I felt there was enough information about Picasso and the subject of misogyny that the viewer of my work could decide for themselves. My connection? My mother was married to a misogynist and ended up taking her own life. It could be that those with mental illness are drawn to certain personalities. Fame and fortune could play a role on either end of the relationship, but after reading that two of Picasso's wives took their own lives I thought raising a tough question could help us to understand.

One Caveat for potential buyers... This piece was just finished on 3/16/17, so it would need 2 or 3 weeks to dry, and also put a temporary varnish before it could be shipped.

Materials used:

Oil on stretched canvas
