A sketch of an artichoke.
Every so often I like to sketch ordinary, mundane objects that I find around me. It's a relaxing time after working on a more complex painting.
Many times the inspiration comes from the vegetables and fruit that I have just brought back from the market.
On this occasion I was intrigued by the lovely purply/green colours of the petals and the way that they curve inwards forming the globe.
