Artwork description:

This is one artwork from the series dedicated to Zeus transformation into different creatures to seduce the mortals he liked. In the case of Antiope he became a satire.

Despite that fact that I was posting here mainly painting my profession is ceramics. Of course I draw, paint, make collages and so on, but I don't forget about clay (especially chamotte). I love old frescos, when you can see one layer of paint under another. I love textures and cracks. I like when items have some marks similar to marks of time, I like when they look like they've just were found in the earth by archaeologists or by some strangers on a shore.

First time I created this series in 2013 in art residency in Iceland. The problem was I didn't have any access to a kiln so I had to fire the artworks in a primitive way (in a pit). It was really interesting experience, but some of items were cracked. I glued them together and now they stand on the shelf in my apartment. Last year I decided to make the series again and I keep working on it now. I made a mould for creating several objects. Their shape is the same, but colors and surfaces are different. Here you can see one of them. I used engobe, glaze and some copper scale to decorate it.
