Question for the artist?

Artist's description:

A local mountain top vista along the Appalachian Trail. 16" X 20" oil on black wrapped canvas.
At an elevation of 5,906 feet Andrews Bald is the highest grassy bald in the Great Smoky Mountain park. The Forney Ridge trail intersects with the AT on the slopes of Clingmans Dome. It is believed Andrews Bald is named after early Appalachian settler Andes Thompson who used the mountain area for hunting. The grassy bald is unique to the area, and displays a beautiful vista of the surrounding region.
