Original artwork description:

The area where I grew up had a lot of chalk hills. Fossilized shells or their traces could be found in the chalk. It impressed me a lot, because my hometown is very far from the sea. The fact that the earth has changed so much is amazing, it makes you realize and feel how short human life is.

These memories came back to me when I visited the Turkey Natural History Museum in Ankara as an adult. There was a large collection of petrified inhabitants of the ancient sea. This series of watercolor paintings is dedicated to them.

I used thick cotton paper with a pronounced extra-rough texture for these works. I wanted to convey the memories of life, the energy of the sea through watercolor effects on this paper.

The inclusions of silver and copper potal are coated with shellac to keep their shine.
You can watch the video of the creation of this painting in the section "Me at Work".

Original watercolor painting on cotton paper 38,5 x 55 cm (15,16 x 21,65 inch).
CoA is included.

Materials used:

Cotton paper 300g, professional watercolor
