Artist's description:

A tribute to my childhood memory and yours. Mine might be unique to me but represents the happiness and clarity of a special memory of days gone by - so many of us have a similar reminiscing.

As a child growing up in India, I was fascinated by the Amar Chitra Katha series. If I were to explain to the Western/Non-Indian audience, it would be akin to Aesop's fables but also with stories of brave and not so brave Kings and Queens and Princes, sometimes lonely Queens, wise courtiers, scheming family, rural life and animals used as metaphor.
One such memory is of a lonely Queen and her pet parrot. This oil on canvas pays tribute to that childhood memory - mine and to all of us who nurture a special memory.
A hot sultry summer, a lonely queen, a beautiful garden and an animated parrot.

This art work is an oil on canvas and is ready to hang. The style is generally expressionist with lots of colour, some layers and a picture that tells you a story.

Materials used:

Oil paint
