"An Abstract Pond at Noon" is a Monet influenced abstract of a lily pond. With bold blues, greens, and yellow, and hints of pink and orange, it is a modern take on Monet's "Water Lilies."
In short, I think this is how turtles and frogs regard the muck and algae of a pond -- effervescent, alive, colorful. It's all perspective! I actually conceived of this painting while crossing a small bridge and watching the turtles and frogs in the pond below. Admittedly, the water is brown, thick, and certainly not what we traditionally deem beautiful, but it's their paradise, and I aimed to create a painting that reflected that.
This is a one-of-a-kind piece painted by me, Kelly McAtee, in 2017. The artwork will arrive with a certificate of authenticity.
The sides are not painted, as this piece is well suited for a traditional or floating frame.
