Artist's description:

New work for 2018, returning to brushwork and gestural action painting creating figurative forms.

The title comes from the fact the painting was started around January 11, which turns out to be the Festival of Janus or Agonalia in Ancient Rome.
Janus was known as the gatekeeper and was depicted as a two headed god with one face looking toward the past and the other to the future. This painting symbolizes for me the exploration of a new style for a new year; more organic in creation which allows for my subconscious to develop and take its place at the forefront of my consciousness.

Artwork is 24"x36" on stretched canvas, titled and signed on the back and was done using a combination of acrylic and oil stick, which creates added texture to the painting.

Price listed does include packing and shipping for the painting.

Materials used:

Acrylic and oil stick on canvas
