Artist's description:

"Aglaia" - The goddess of beauty, splendor, glory, magnificence and adornment.
Part of The Graces series.

In Greek and Roman mythology the Graces (or Charites) were minor goddesses who symbolized beauty charm, and goodness. They were three sisters: Aglaia (brightness or splendor), Euphrosyne (mirth or joyfulness) and Thalia (good cheer or blossoming one).

The Graces were the children of Zeus and Eurynome, a daughter of the Titans Oceanus and Tethys. The main role of the Graces was to bestow beauty, charm, and goodness on young women and to give joy to people in general. Usually the Graces were attending the Greek goddess of Beauty Aphrodite and her companion Eros and loved dancing around in a circle to Apollo's divine music, together with the Nymphs and the Muses.
