Artist's description:

Painting is based on and inspired by orchids in my collection.

I love this orchid. It’s a dainty little plant with long flower spikes filled of tiny flowers.
This one was done done some time ago! I also did a full colour version of this painting. Both have totally different moods. The orchid itself is still in my garden...
The paper I use is a traditional mulberry paper handmade in Thailand. The paper is a thick parchment paper, strong yet pliable. I have the paper made to this size to get the deckled edges which adds to the textural effect. At times the sides may be uneven as in this painting. I like to use this to heighten the mood of a handmade item.
The close up picture is of higher resolution to be able to get a better feel for the texture and brush strokes of the painting.
