Artist's description:

It's strange but after a time I stop seeing the body. The limbs and the spaces they make just becomes shapes. Cropping the body by choosing not to capture all adds the the abstraction of the subject whilst retaining quite a lot of detail of the human form.

Mixture of conte pastels on black paper. The size given is the size of the paper.

Will be loosely covered and bagged (to keep dry) and delivered loosely rolled in a tube.

I regularly go to open sessions with a life model is great to improve observation skills. Looking intently at the bone structure, tendons and muscles sharpens the ability to notice how they work. It's a great way of sharing the costs of a model, ideas, feedback and what's going on in the world of art.

NB the colour of the picture may be slightly different on your monitor/phone depending on settings.

Materials used:

Conte pastel
