Encaustic monotype with image transfer and encaustic paint on a cradled panel.
Based on a photo I took from a float plane over the melting Alaskan landscape in July, 2002 when the temperatures were extremely high. The local Tlingit people told me how they were forced to move their fishing villages inland due to the rising sea. Climate change has been affecting people for many years yet governments and industries have not taken meaningful action and some won't even admit there is a crisis.
8" x 8" x 1"
Signed and dated on the back and wired for hanging. This artwork has clean white sides and does not need to be framed which is standard for contemporary encaustic artwork.
