In 2016 I spent a year Photographing the areas immediately surrounding every station on the entirety of London's vast underground system. I started on the January 1st 2016 and 430 tube stops later I finished on the 24th December of the same year
The sum of this work is available in a hard bound book published in 2017 - In this series I've selected my favourite photo from each line to offer as a limited edition print
My Piccadilly Line selection was taken in Hammersmith.
For me street photography is often a game of chance and probability. I don't believe any photographer can guarantee a great shot but it's about putting yourself in a position where your chances of a great shot are at their peak. It's about controlling the elements you can to encourage a pleasing combination of the things you can't, and this image depicts that perfectly. It's a lucky photo, that on the surface is just a coincidence but when thought out mathematically is almost impossible. This image is what I would consider to be the royal flush of street photography.
