This painting tells the story of a truly lovely and memorable day for me. Wandering around the ancient city of Girona - in the old town in July 2014 - I remember being in raptures at the narrow streets and beautifully tall architecture which cast everything in shadow, allowing only a thin slither of sunlight to peer through. As a brief shower sparkled in atmospheric shards of light, my partner took the photo on which this painting is based. I said to her – as I often do! - “This will make a perfect painting!” Well, here it is. A moment in time.
Created almost entirely with a palette knife, richly textured, contemporary impressionist in style, using thick, glossy oil paints.
Ready to hang and varnished with two coats of UV resistant varnish.
Fully insured postage, protectively wrapped. Yours for a lifetime.
