Artist's description:

Cut Paper: Cut from one piece of archival paper mounted slightly above the white background to reveal a depth to the work.

This image is a visual allegory of an actual event in my life. The robot (when used in any of my work) represents the disruptive effect of arbitrary authority when applied without oversight. The space ships/flying saucers represent the real, generally illicit, power behind the authority. The buildings in trees (tree houses) represent society or established institutions built on unstable foundations of trust and tradition. The barking dog is me raging against incompetent authority with little effect. In this image, there are those who stand and do nothing and go down with the building's collapse.. Others runaway and few stand and object. In the end, trust is destroyed, traditions are obliterated, the disruptive influence of incompetent authority triumphs.

Materials used:

Archival quality black paper.
