This is a painting inspired by a dream. In it, I sat outside a cafe in Venice, but the city was completely deserted. From around the corner of the Ducal Palace, a line of African elephants emerged. Everything was very calm and happy, I was only slightly surprised at their appearance. The elephants continued their walk around the square and came past my table. I took an orange from my breakfast plate and tossed it to the first elephant in the line, which she skillfully caught with her trunk as if she had been expecting it.
