Artist's description:

Spectacular sunset on Vico lake, Central Italy. I've tried to simplify the scene, just working on hues. The photograph is blue with hust a small amount of pink, and express calm, quiet, beauty, I hope.

The latin words Speculum Coeli means, literally, “mirror of the sky ". Lakes and water in general reflect the clouds and the blue of the sky: for the ancient populations, this allowed a dialogue among men and gods. The lake become an intermediary between two worlds (Olympus, home of the gods and the Earth where humans lives) that normally could not communicate directly.
