Artist's description:

This painting was executed with the same approach as the previous work - 'Fireworks', so the same explanation is applicable here: In this painting I tried out a new approach in painting a portrait where I allowed myself to paint with such abandon that level of my control over what was happening on the canvas was reduced to a minimum. The portrait at some point just happened, catching me by surprise. There was no time for me to even start thinking about any details. This way of painting allows me to create things I'd never be able to do if I painted with full control over every brushstroke. That control would make me paint in a completely different way, which is not what I'm interested in exploring right now.
